About
From humble beginnings in the mailroom at Singleton, Ogilvy & Mather, Mike honed his skills as an Art Director after completing Award School with honours. His success at Award School earned him a junior creative role. And his surname earned him his own office - the newly refurbished old smoking room off the Singo's bar.
His earlier accreditation of an Advanced Diploma in Design aided his thirst for ideas. Enabling him to cut his teeth on clients such as Coke, Nestle, Telstra, Qantas and GSK. After 3 years at SOM, it was time to go freelance.
14 years, several agencies and numerous awards later, Mike is the modern day definition of a creative all-rounder. With an imagination as fertile as ever, he’s as comfortable writing headlines and scripts as he is orchestrating shoots or designing future-proof logos. He strives for excellence in all facets of his work and lives for that eureka moment when cracking ideas. A skill he believes is the perfect synergy of logic and magic.
Continually inspired by the brilliant minds in advertising, he’s also passionate about giving back to the industry, having served as both a judge and tutor for ADMA. The latter resulted in coaching the winning student three years in a row.
Colleagues, suppliers and clients alike warm to his summery disposition and twisted sense of humour. When he's not working on his latest creative campaign, he can be found planning his next surf adventure
